The making of Manifestation - Digital Painting

Written by  Jun Osorio

Sometimes waiting for someone is bit frustrating that's why I always bring paper and pencils so I can sketch or conceptualize then when I get home I will just scan like what I did in this tutorial.

Software: Adobe Photoshop

Basic Rendering

In this Screencast shows on how to render in solid base color in separate layers

Shading in GrayScale Mode

In this step, I Switch to GrayScale Mode first, and I render every details for each layer, that is because is more easily to change color for each layers, using the Hue/Saturation sometime I use Replace Color tool to change color. The highlights in this screencast is the multiply blending mode applied to the sketch layer and put it above all layers to make the sketch lines visible.

Adding Color using Hue and Saturation

A simple steps in converting black and white shades into color RGB image.

Adding Details

This Screencast show how to add details to the subject using Filter >> Gaussian Blur for more softer render with combination other brush size and opacity for different effects. Also cover in tutorial how to use different blending mode. Video duration is 10 minutes and I hope you like it. Thanks and God Bless.
